Relying solely on a US-controlled giant for your entire stack is a single point of failure. It introduces latency, legal ambiguity regarding the EU Data Protection Directive (95/46/EC), and unpredictable billing spikes.

The solution isn't to abandon the public cloud, but to commoditize it. We need a Hybrid Multi-Provider Strategy. Keep your core, data-heavy workloads on high-performance, predictable local infrastructure like CoolVDS, and treat the public cloud merely as a scalable overflow buffer.

The Latency Mathematics: Physics Doesn't Negotiate

Let's talk about the speed of light. If your customers are in Norway, serving them from a data center in Dublin or Frankfurt adds unavoidable milliseconds. Serving them from Virginia (us-east-1) is negligent.
